Empowering High School Students to Decarbonize the Fashion Industry Through Sustainable Textile Invention and Eco-Friendly Garment Design
Through the invention process, they will create an eco-friendly textile using natural dyes and use upcycled materials to sew a garment with a practical purpose. Furthermore, they will develop a mock business plan if their sustainable clothing was distributed at a larger scale. The activities are intended to engage populations that may not typically choose STEM courses and will embed cultural assets related to clothing from marginalized communities.
